What is Twinkle Eyes?

Twinkle eyes is an eye exam custom designed for children 10 years old and younger. Developed by Dr. Bruce Meyer, FCOVD, Twinkle Eyes thoroughly evaluates a child's visual development in all vital areas. The exam is comfortable, fun, and performed in a kid-friendly environment while children are smiling and engaged every step of the way!

Through the use of interactive computer technology, animation, and props, Twinkle Eyes provides your child with an enjoyable experience. Kids will be entertained and relaxed while Dr. Meyer checks their overall eye health and prescription in his kind and friendly manner.

At the conclusion of their examination, each child will receive a Twinkle Eyes Vision Report Card. It will assess their overall visual health and identify any problem areas. Upon parental request, we can send a copy to the school, tutor, pediatrician, etc.

Examining Your Child...

Since as much as 80% of all learning in a child's first 12 years is obtained through vision, children should have their eyes examined before they can read. The American Optometric Association recommends the first eye exam be performed at 6 months of age, again at the age of 3 or 4, and then every 1 to 2 years thereafter. Early detection of vision problems is critical. A comprehensive visual assessment can rule out any vision problems which may affect a child's ability to learn and perform to their fullest potential.

Their Future Success and Development...

The simple vision screening tests performed in school are NOT an adequate evaluation of a child's total visual development. The only information they measure is whether or not students can see objects clearly at a distance (i.e. blackboard). Reading, writing, and comprehension require the use of additional visual skills that are not evaluated by a school screening. Having a Twinkle Eyes Exam will help ensure your child's future success and achievement.

Your "Special" Child...

Dr. Meyer and his staff are very patient and understanding when it comes to dealing with "special" children. In fact, the specific techniques used for Twinkle Eyes are particularly helpful in evaluating children who are developmentally delayed and also require that extra bit of care.

"My kids love coming to see Dr. Meyer- he makes them feel special."
